Pizza In The Park
Pizza in the Park on Monday for the students of Toccoa Falls College. It was a celebration for a job well done in the Keep America Beautiful, Keep Georgia Beautiful, and Keep Toccoa-Stephens County Beautiful Cleanup Challenge 2013. The Challenge is on going but school is out for the summer, so the students will be headed home. We will miss them but look forward to August and their return for the Rivers Alive Challenge.
Their team was Atlanta Outreach Ministries, which when not going to classes and doing studies, Friday nights traveled to Atlanta to work and help the homeless. They joined the Challenge to raise money for gas to travel back and forth to Atlanta but also to help our local community and make neighborhood friend, and they surely did.
Totals of the Challenge were:
Volunteer Hours – 140, tires collected 31, Recyclable Materials 27 – 30 gallon trash bags, and the collect of 16,580 pounds of wood, glass, metal, plastics, blocks and roofing.
Not bad in their
spare time. See you in August Guys!
